The Guildhall Stockport 3rd Nov 2023
Constructed in the Victorian style of the time, the distinctive façade of the building has been an icon of Stockport for over 150 years.
The Guildhall was built in 1868 originally as a Wesleyan Sunday School named Brentnall Street School and operated for around 60 years.
The Freemasons of Stockport moved into the building in 1932 and still meet here today. Since being inhabited by Stockport Freemasons, The Guildhall has accommodated many events including the notable occurrence of housing evacuees from Guernsey during the second world war in the summer of 1940.
The Guildhall has hosted thousands of private celebrations and is well known in the local area since opening its doors to non-member events around 1990.
Guests travel from the entire North-West of England to attend our public and private events including our long running Night Owl Soul and Motown Night that started in 1995 and is still running strong today.
