Karl Beattie - 3 questions answered!

A few weeks ago, whilst at an event with Most Haunted Experience, I managed to grab the one and only, Karl Beattie to ask him 3 questions.

Here are those questions and his answers, in his own words.

1. What is your favourite location and why?

"There's quite a lot of different locations because of different things, but my all time favourite location has got to be Michelham Priory because that's where we did our pilot for Most Haunted and that's where it all began. That was the seed of everything and when we walked into that place we didn't know what to expect. To be fair we didn't really know what we were doing (some people would say we still don't), but we experienced stuff in there and it was stuff we experienced all for the first time and we knew we had something there. There was something so powerful about that place and I still think it's the most haunted place we've ever done. Not the scariest, but the most haunted."

2. What is the scariest thing that's happened to you and where did it happen?

"That's a good question. There's lots of different scary things that have happened and they're scary for different reasons so it's difficult to pinpoint one, but I kind of usually go back to Gloucester prison because I remember hearing a cough. I was in the hospital wing and it wasn't one of those noises you think is a cough, it was a proper cough. I walked down there - there was only one door in and out of the room. I opened the door expecting to see a person, but it was empty and as soon as I kind of walked back from that, which was scary enough, there were three loud bangs, so loud that I span round so quickly I fell over and it's the only time I've ever done that. I tried to recreate the banging sounds I heard with doors and everything and I couldn't so it scared me the fact that they were so loud and so engulfing, but I couldn't recreate them so I don't know where the noises came from so for that reason it's probably the scariest. "

3. If you could talk to anyone famous that has passed away, who would it be and what would you ask them?

"It's got to be Elvis because I'm a huge Elvis fan. I would want to know a couple of questions I guess. I would want to know if he truly was lonely because he was surrounded by a lot of hangers on and I would want to know what it must have felt like to know that you were that popular. You changed music so much you were the one person that every man... I mean he was the first man to have sex appeal for men and women. I mean, I'm a heterosexual male, but I look at him and think "you're just beautiful ". I know everyone has their choices, but he was perfect. I'd like to know about his last moments aswell so those are the questions I would probably ask him."
